  • The Neighborhood

Welcome to Kokomlemle- a sweet neighborhood in the heart of Accra

    Kokomlemle

    Centrally Located

Located on the Ring Road (the main road transecting Accra east to west) and just minutes from "Circle" (the main hub for bus and tro-tro transport in and out of Accra), Kokomlemle is perfectly central with easy access to taxis and tro-tros. With a 10 minute taxi ride, you can access the headquarters of the Ministries district or the heart of nightlife in Osu. In just 15 minutes, you're at the airport, or enjoying Labadi Beach.

    Conveniences

    Its All Here!

Although centrally located, Kokomlemle is tucked away from the buzz of neighboring Nima and the congestion of city center. Instead, this tree-lined neighborhood hosts a mix of family homes, small shops, and street life that makes residential Accra such a wonderful place to be. In a few blocks radius, you will find: 2 major markets selling everything from tomatoes to live chickens to DVDs; tons of delicious red-red and other food joints; plenty of corner-shops and drinking spots; a technical school with a spacious football field; and one of Accra's most well-loved hostals (and hang out spots!).

Accra is amazing. Plenty diverse, plenty safe, plenty fun! There's nothing that you can't do in Accra... except maybe find an affordable apartment for monthly rental. As foreigners arriving in Accra for a short-term contract, we struggled to find a relaxed place to stay that did not require a one or two year advance payment. Once we decided to call Accra home, we began to search out a great house in our favorite neighborhood, that could help visitors, business people, and volunteers overcome the same housing challenges that we had faced.

    Welcome to Koko House!
